Asteroid Impact Energy Calculator

Estimate the explosive energy of an asteroid impact based on its size and speed. Results are approximate and for educational purposes.

Example: Chelyabinsk ≈ 20 m
Typical range: 12–25 km/s
Density affects total energy.
How we calculate

Energy = ½ × mass × velocity². Mass is estimated from asteroid volume and density. 1 megaton TNT ≈ 4.184 × 10¹⁵ joules.
